Chinese Lunar New Year - Welcoming the Ox

Today is the first day of the Chinese Lunar New Year, met with celebrations and observations by ethnic Chinese and others around the world. This year, we welcome the Year of the Ox, the sign representing solemn hard work and prosperity - an animal that appears aptly symbolic for these difficult times. Millions of people traveled long distances to be with family during this Spring Festival, choking transit systems in China especially.


Yu Sang or Yee Sang

The seventh day of the Chinese New Year is known as "Everybody's Birthday". The famous food to have in this day is called "Yu Sang". This is a specialty dish originated from Malaysia. Normally colleagues will have this meal together and wish everybody have greater year ahead. "Seven Vegetable Soup" is another famous dish to have during this day. it represents harvest and reminds people to start working hard after the celebration.

Ingredients:
  1. Fresh yam/taro
  2. Unripened mango
  3. Sweet potato
  4. White radish
  5. Carrot
  6. Wonton skins
  7. Raw sslmon fillet, sliced thinly
  8. Peanuts and sesame seed, roasted
  9. Apricot jam
  10. Plum sauce
  11. Honey
  12. Lime
  13. Sugar
  14. Lemon
  15. Brandy/whiskey

Method:

  1. Shred white radish, carrot, yam, sweet potato and mango. Split shredded yam into 2 portions, colour one portion green, and the other red.
  2. Cut wonton skins into thin strips.
  3. Heat oil in saucepan/wok. Deep fry wonton skins, sweet potato and lastly the yam.
  4. Mixed salmon with a bit of brandy and lemon juice.
  5. Pound roasted peanuts and sesame seed.
  6. Arrange attractively on a round platter with salmon in the centre.
  7. For the sauce, mix apricot jam, plum sauce, lime juice, honey and sesame oil in a saucepan. Add sugar and salt according to taste.
  8. Sprinkle peanut and sesame seed over arranged platter. Pour sauce just before serving.

masak lemak nangka



kebiasaanya sebelum sy g ke sekolah(kerja) sy masak dulu untuk anak2.
anak sy yg no.3 tu bila balik sekolah mesti nak makan jadi sy mesti masak wlu macammana pun.
jadi hari menu sy masak lemak nangka.

ni resepi2 nya...cuba lah..

nangka muda(rebus)

bahan utk kisar:
3-5 cili padi(kalo nak pedas tambah lg la)
1@2 labu bwg besar
3 biji bwg merah
kunyit hidup
serai titik
santan(1 mangkuk)
garam
serbuk perasa(jika suka)

cara-caranya:
1. tumis bahan yang dikisar hingga naik bau
2. masukkan nangka yang di rebus bersama serai yang dititik
3. masukkan santan,kacau jgn pecah minyak dan masukkan garam dan serbuk perasa
4. siap untuk di hidangkan

Roti & bebudak Taski





smlm sy x sempat nak mengupdate blog ni,busy ngn keje umah,memasak lg.masuk ari yang kedua persekolahan,budak2 nampaknya x de yang menangis lg.ada juga yang menangis,cume 2,3 orang je la..tapi selepas rehat mereka ceria bermain bersama rakan2...



ni rupa roti sebelum di bakar,yang di buat oleh anakku yang ke 2(k.ngah)..




dah masak apa lagi ......
sekembalinya adik2 dari sekokah apa lagi..ngaplah..

ni cerita untuk hari ni...............

hari pertama di taski







Hisham Izni Nuruddin

saya seorang pembantu taski di taski al-hidayah berhampiran tempat tinggal sy.hari ini sy memulakan tugas sebagai pembantu taski setelah 2 bulan bercuti sekolah.biasa lah pada hari pertama persekolahan,ada bermacam2 ragam dan perangainya,ada yang ketawa,ada yang gembira dan x kuarangnya ada juga yang menangis.mungkin x serasi lagi dengan alam persekolahan.di sini sy paparkan antara gelagat anak2 murid saya yang di luar sgt keletah dan banyak cakap,bila di sekolah menangis x henti2..

finally dpt juga saya buat blog ni...

alhamdulillah,setelah sekian lama melawat blog rakan2 akhirnya dapat juga saya membangunkan blog sendiri dengan pertolongan anak sulung saya yg sedang menuntut di politeknik sultan idris shah,sabak bernam dalam bidang IT..semoga dengan ada nye blog ini sy dapat mengisi masa lapang.sekian..
